ACUPUNCTURE for Pain Management and Relief

The use of acupuncture for pain relief is more gaining acceptance in America.

Inserting needles into specific acupuncture points in the body stimulates the nervous system to release natural pain killer, such as endorphins, cortisol, ACTH in the muscles, spinal cord and brain. These will either change the relieve the pain or they will trigger the release of other hormones that influence the body’s own internal regulating system. Some of these substances are 50 to 100 times more potent at pain relief than many prescription drugs. In 1997, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) officially recognized acupuncture as an effective treatment for low back pain, tennis elbow, neck pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, headaches, menstrual cramps, and myofascial pain.
